Wondering what to do on a free day in Punta Arenas, you need to take this tour. This exceeded all expectations, Gerardo is a wonderful guide, so knowledgeable and passionate of his home area, the nature, the history and everything . He and Maricio our driver were so courteous, patient and accommodating for our requests for stopping to take pictures. The lunch stop was great, home cooked empanadas yummy! At no point did we ever feel we were being rushed along. We did everything that day, and by the end we were happily exhausted with a full memory card of fantastic memories to look back on. If we had not booked with Gerardo, we would never have known the thing he told us , and we would never have experienced this amazing countryside and culture to the extent we did. Thank you so very much for a wonderful dayOur tour guide Gerardo and driver Guillermo were both professional and on time. Our tour guide Gerardo and driver Guillermo were both professional and on time. The tour was informative and a great way to start any visit to Punta Arenas, we especially were impressed with the history lessons at the cemetery, Gerardo was very detail orientated and his English is great. The walking paths at the fort are nice along the coast and with good weather provide spectacular views of the strait. Lunch was delicious. We really enjoyed our time.Full of history and fascination fauna and flora, no wonder Darwin came back with lots of specimens and illustrations. Excellent guide and superb driver both were not only hospitable but thoughtful and certainly very knowledgable about Punta Arena history, culture and nature.I took this tour on December 11, 2019 and it was fantastic. I took this tour on December 11, 2019 and it was fantastic. Not enough people signed up for the tour but the operator let me still take the tour by myself. Gerardo picked me up in his personal car and took me everywhere he wanted to show me. He let me stay as long as I wanted at places and even took me by some things that weren't in our original itinerary. He knew a lot about the area and its history, and it was a fantastic introduction to the region. He went above and beyond to make my experience as comfortable and meaningful as possible. It was obvious he believed it when he told me that tourism experiences were important and and he'd rather take more time to help his client have the experience they wanted. Also, I understand Spanish pretty well so I usually don't mind if tour guides don't really speak English, and in my experience, tour guides say they can speak English but actually can't. This guy's English was practically perfect and he had lived in the U.S. for awhile. So if you need to make sure you have an English-speaking guide, this is your best bet. I 100% recommend this company once tourism opens up again after Covid-19.A much delayed crossing of the Magellan Strait because of bad weather meant a late night arrival in Punta Arenas to find heavily boarded up buildings in and around Plaza de Armas and made for an inauspicious start to our 3 day visit. A much delayed crossing of the Magellan Strait because of bad weather meant a late night arrival in Punta Arenas to find heavily boarded up buildings in and around Plaza de Armas and made for an inauspicious start to our 3 day visit. However a day with Gerardo transformed our initial impression of this city. His excellent English perfected by a number of years of living in the USA and detailed knowledge of his native city and its history as well as that of the Parque del Estrecho coupled with his courtesy and professionalism made for an unforgettable tour. Highlights for us included the magnificent seascapes from the Parque del Estrecho, dolphins entertaining us at a lunch time stop at a sea shore shop on the way back to the city, the Museo Nao Victoria and the Cementerio Municipal. Pick up and drop off at our hotel and putting on the tour for us even though we were his only guests that day were added bonuses. Thank you Gerardo!Tour was excellent. The weather was not so good, rain off and on, but our guide made the most of it. He was very knowledgeable about the area's history and very easy to talk to and ask questions. Because the weather wasn't so great we made an unscheduled trip to an indoor museum.
