Manuela was wonderful! We stayed at a hotel near the Parthenon so they came and picked us up right there! We had 5 adults ranging from 33-63 and everyone had a great time and felt safe. She stopped at all of the spots you really only need a few minutes at (like the Spanish steps or the trevi fountain) and was great at taking pictures for us. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. After so much walking every other day it was nice to get to have a golf cart whiz us around town! Our guide Luca, the Italian with the Aussie English accent, picked us up at our vacation rental and carried us on the most amazing personal tour of Rome. Our guide Luca, the Italian with the Aussie English accent, picked us up at our vacation rental and carried us on the most amazing personal tour of Rome. It was a discussion (not a dry lecture) on history, art, ancient politics, Italian culture, architecture, engineering, archaeology and more. All of this mixed with incredible stops at the jaw dropping locations we had traveled half way around the world to see. He tailored the tour to what we were interested in seeing with some stops being an in-depth look around and others just being a drive-by item of note. The golf cart allowed us to get closer on the narrow streets than the big buses we passed. He expertly navigated the confusing Italian traffic. Our tour included a lunch break at a great local trattoria. The seven hours of touring went by much too fast and we were sorry when it ended. We used the knowledge gained of the city to plan the rest of our week in Rome.
