Stop At: Discover San Sebastián Tours, C. Okendo, 5, 6º, 20004 San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa, Spain
San Sebastián (known as Donostia in Basque) is a city renowned worldwide for its gastronomic tradition. Without doubt the unrivalled “Star” and featured in every bar is the Pintxo. The picturesque old town (Parte Vieja) is completely packed with Pintxos bars — so many that knowing where to go and what to order can be completely overwhelming.
We will take you to the very finest pintxo bars that visitors are unlikely to discover on their own and we will suggest the best pintxo in each bar and the most suitable drink to accompany it, chosen from Cider, Txakoli (Basque white wine) or red wine.
From our meeting point we will visit the Old Town of San Sebastian where you will learn about Basque traditions and customs. You will visit bars off the normal tourist trail, eating and drinking like locals do.
Enjoy knowing the anecdotes of our city and how we relate when we go out to eat at the pintxos bars; it is a way to socializing as well as a philosophy of life. We will be able to taste 5 pintxos and 5 drinks in the bars to which we will go accompanied and advised by one of our guides.

There's a reason Eskerne's tours are number one in San Sebastian. It's because she herself is number one -- the best guide, the most engaging personality, and just generally a fun person all around. We had an amazing time with her, so much so that we did it again a couple of days later. We're avid tour takers but have never felt the need to book again. And Eskerne did not disappoint: she remembered where we'd gone to the first time and took us to entirely new places on tour two. We got a close up look at how to order, what was on offer, the best times to go and cool stories behind each place. And she was so gracious she even offered to call a taxi for us for our Arzak reservation and to recommend nearby seafood spot Kaia Kaipa -- and book that for us too! Thanks for everything Eskerne, if we're ever in SS again we'll be sure to look you up.Me and my girlfriend had the absolute best time on our Pinxto lunch tour with Discover San Sebastián! Me and my girlfriend had the absolute best time on our Pinxto lunch tour with Discover San Sebastián! Our tour guide was Eskarne who grew up in the area and knew every single Pinxto bar owner in town. We went to 5 different bars and she was able to order us the best and most freshly made Pinxtos at each bar. We also got to try a different wine or cider at each place as well which added up to 5 drinks each and a nice buzz on our walk back to the hotel :) Eskarne later emailed us everything we ate, where we ate it, and also had recommendations on other places to go. She also sent us the pictures she took during the tour. It was an absolute 5 star experience!!! Of note we learned about the tour through my girlfriend’s sister who had the same wonderful experience!Eskerne is a total delight, charming, resourceful and oh so knowledgeable. Our tour fly by as we walked, viewed sights ate delicious bites and of course laughed. One of the best tours we have had anywhere in the worl.

Our family of four including 2 kids did a private pintxos tour with Chus and had a great experience! We expected to eat great food, but we all had lots of fun learning about the history of the city and the Basque country as well!! Chus was very accommodating to have children with us and took their likes and allergies into great consideration. They are still talking about some of their favorite pintxos. Highly recommend doing this on one of your first days in SS so that you'll have good ideas for the rest of your stay.We fell in love with San Sebastian/Donostia in great part through the eyes of our tour guide, Eskerne Falcon, a local food and culture expert. We fell in love with San Sebastian/Donostia in great part through the eyes of our tour guide, Eskerne Falcon, a local food and culture expert. Eskerne took our family of 4 (mom, dad and 2 teens) on a brief history tour of the town, visits to the local market and to five different restaurant/bars. She had so much radiant energy and had us engaged from the beginning. We walked to see the various beaches, learned history of the town, and most importantly, the cultural significance of the pintxo! San Sebastian is known for more Michelin starred restaurants per capita than any other place. Eskerne took us to sample local cheeses, olives and famous black pig ham. She took us to her favorite bars to have a drink (cider, wine or beer) and a sampling of some of her favorite pintxos. They were all fabulous and the owners of the establishments went out of their way to make our visits expeditious and delicious! We highly recommend Discover San Sebastian and have a friend for life in Eskerne.Eskerne was a whirlwind of enthusiasm, knowledge and humour. With her taking you by the hand, you'll get the best and the freshest of what the San Sebastian pintxo scene has to offer, while filling you in on the history of the city at the same time.
