Had a fantastic time in Sandwich Harbour with Uwe. He is the man! Took us out to the end of the Harbour and gave us a fantastic experience. Going up and down the very same dunes featured in the movie “Mad Max Fury Road” - taking almost vertical drops and then running right by the edge of the beach. Had a chance to spot plenty of wildlife as well as gaining knowledge of the desalination process native to the area. We had some children in the group - he was kind and patient and ensured they enjoyed themselves. Walked down a steep dune to a great lunch and cold local beer before turning back home. We absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique experience in the area.5 stars. Hans was an amazing Tour Guide. 5 stars. Hans was an amazing Tour Guide. Extremely knowledgeable and very informative of the history of the land, city and wildlife of the tour. He reached out to us and asked if it were possible to leave a bit earlier than the stated time so we could get the best experience in Sandwich Harbor, and let me tell you that we did. We were the first one out and last ones to leave the dunes, we had a beautiful picnic on top of the dune next to the ocean and then made our way to pelican point to see the seals. Along the way, he stopped multiple times for us to take photos of the wildlife and even dug a hole for us to find a gecko. Overall, an amazing experience and I highly recommend the trip.Highly recommend. Was the highlight of our Walvis Bay trip. Uwe was great and informative about Sandwich Harbour and an excellent navigator of the dunes.

We booked a full day across Walvis Bay, the dunes, Sandwich Harbour and it was a worthy experience. First, I must say that Uwe is quite a character! With so much energy, so knowledgeable and definitely with a good sense of humour. Prior to out date he was following the low/high tide hours to get the right timing of the start of out day with him. He picked us from our hotel in Swakopmund and the we passed Walvis Bay, some intriguing salty lakes as a starter too. As our guide he was understanding to our specific interests and he was patient with us when we wanted to spend more time around the seals. It was fun riding with him through the dunes and the beach of Sandwich Bay. He was pushing his SUV and we had quite an exciting ride simply because he knows his staff. We enjoyed a simple lunch with some beers on a top of a dune, got a small gift from him and really enjoyed the full day with him. He may not be among the premium providers of this type of experience, but his knowledge, humour and general dedication to what he does will really make you day nice!If you are trying to find an activity in Swakopmund do yourself a favor and book Uwe! Uwe truly made our stop in Swakopmund. Though he does tours daily, his excitement was as if it was the first time he was experiencing it.
