What a wonderful experience we had with our guide Simon from beginning to end of this tour. Communication with this tour company was super efficient from the time of booking. We were a party of 3, my husband, my 12 year old son and myself. Simon couldn’t of been nicer and made my son feel so comfortable, he tried so many different types of food that he never would of tried with us!! The tour itself is fantastic, wandering down alleys that we’d of never have found ourselves. The food was delicious and Simon tailored the food to our tastes. Would highly recommend doing this tour at the start of your holiday so that you can then be more educated in your food choices for the rest of your stay. Wonderful night Simon, will define recommending this to our friends. My wife and I did the tour with Kenichi and we absolutely loved it. My wife and I did the tour with Kenichi and we absolutely loved it. He brought us to 4 different places that had good food and we tried many japanese classic meals. Make sure not to eat too much before the tour! We also had many different local drinks and did a sake tasting. Most importantly to us was the good and authentic vibe of Kenichi that made us feel at ease and we had interesting conversations that allowed us to learn more about beautiful Japan. We absolutely recommend this tour to anyone, it was one of our best nights spent in Tokyo, thanks again! This was our second time in Japan and we really want to experience Japan. This was our second time in Japan and we really want to experience Japan. Initially, my wife and I were not sure to expect. You might think you are going to be taken to some very rural area and it is going to be secluded. It is, in fact, the opposite. We have never been to Sangenjaya but it is a very busy area and we met up Yoshi he took us to places you would never have thought existed. You get to try out so many dishes and everyone at the restaurant is so friendly. I have a feeling these guys are going to be super busy once the 2020 Olympics are in full swing. Yoshi was an amazing guide and made us feel welcome and explained to us the type of restaurant and the food we are eating. You owe to yourself to book this tour.We were visiting Japan for the Rugby World Cup and I came across a recommendation for this walking food tour in The Guardian and we weren't disappointed. We were visiting Japan for the Rugby World Cup and I came across a recommendation for this walking food tour in The Guardian and we weren't disappointed. Simon was a brilliant and informative guide and the whole group were good friends by the end of the night. We honestly visited so many places and tasted so many different and delicious foods that it's hard to put down in words. I've done many walking food tours in different countries but this definitely tops the list and is such a great way to know a city, country, people and their food. From kushikatsu, charcoal grilled meat, sashimi, grilled fish, sake, hoppy and umeshu we tried it all. I would definitely recommend this to others, worth every penny. Thank you Simon!4 of us went on this tour and it exceeded all expectations. We experienced authentic Japansese food and ate with locals. This was the best night we had in Tokyo by far and such a blast. Simon is not only knowledgeable but fun to be around and made the evening really enjoyable. We would not have eniyoed the izakayas and food we sampled if we tried to do this ourselves. The drinks as well were varied and took us beyond simply sake etc - there were some real treats! I would not hesitate in recommending this tour.
