Stop At: Bottomless Pit, Colorado 80809, USA
The Bottomless Pit is as you would expect! Just below the summit of Pikes Peak, the highway nears a steep cliff you can view from the very edge of the road and look down and out across and expansive scene. This location is a favorite for family photos!

We were thrilled with our tour of Pike’s Peak with Rocky Mountain Ride and are so glad that we did not attempt driving up the mountain ourselves. Lot’s of hairpin turns with no railings. Jeremiah was our driver and he was a very cautious, safe, and patient driver, very personable with a nice sense of humor, and knowledgeable about the mountain. We made stops along the way to take advantage of scenic views, shop, and see things up close. We had the added of bonus of picking up Craig at the top of Pike’s Peak—he is 70 years old and has hiked up the mountains hundreds of times. Craig is an amazingly interesting person and a regularly rides down the mountain on Rocky Mountain ride. He was happy to answer our questions about hiking the mountain. We highly recommend Rocky Mountain Ride and would take additional excursions without hesitation.
