Scuba Diving Experience for Beginners in Gran Canaria
Overview
At Puerto Rico Diving we believe it is important that your first taste of scuba diving should be as relaxing, informative and safe as possible.

What to expect
-Upon pick up we will take you straight to the dive site, Playa de Amadores *. If you come to our dive centre we will drive you to the dive site. Your instructor will introduce themselves and get you ready to start your Try Dive experience.
-First your instructor will go through the paperwork with you and answer any questions you may have.
- Whilst you are filling in the paperwork we will start to get your equipment ready for the try dive.
- When everything is ready your instructor will give you a detailed briefing about what to expect in the water. You will put the equipment on and walk the short distance to the ocean.
-Once in the water your instructor will slowly introduce you to breathing with the scuba equipment. When you feel ready you will start in shallow water by learning a few basic skills, after this you will go for a guided dive under the direct supervision of your instructor.
*Please note if the weather conditions at Playa de Amadores are not suitable for diving we may take you to a different diving location further away.

- Not wheelchair accessible
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, blood pressure problems, diabetes will require clearance from a Dr)
- Minimum age is 10 years
- Stroller accessible
- Near public transportation
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Most travelers can participate
- A minimum of 12 hours is required between diving and flying for 1 dive
- A minimum of 18 hours is required between diving and flying for multiple dives
- Not recommended for travellers with asthma or other lung conditions
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 4 travelers
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 1 day of travel. In this case confirmation will be received as soon as possible, subject to availability

I had an absolutely fantastic time with the team at Puerto Rico Diving. They are very friendly, flexible and accommodating which made it easy to get exactly what I wanted for this experience. I completed my open water, advanced open water and nitrox courses with them over the space of two weeks and plan to come back in future to do additional dives with them. They have access to some lovely dive spots around the Island which keeps the courses interesting. Shoutout to Alberto, my instructor who was brilliant! Very fun and engaging and I enjoyed every minute. Spent two great days diving with Puerto Rico Diving in April 2022. Great little diving outfit. Very welcoming, personal, friendly and reliable with great knowledge of local dive sites. Dive guides are excellent, well organised, safe and make the diving a pleasure. I would recommend for all levels of diving for your diving experience in Gran Canaria. Fair prices which include full kit hire and pick up from your hotel. Would not hesitate to dive with them should I visit Gran Canaria again
