We took the two-way ticket from Sky Gondola. It was a great tour and picturesque scenes at the top of the mountain. We took the Winter hike which was seemed to be the most challenging of the 6 or 7 hike it had. Took us around 2.5 hours for the entire hike which was a great experience with several scenic locations. The best part of being on this absolutely most amazing trip was that we could go to the top of the mountain and spend the entire day there. Whether it was relaxing or hiking all the trails.

We took our 5 year old and 9 year old on a sunny day at 3pm. Do not take heavy coats assuming it is colder up high (temp was same as parking lot). We had to carry the coats while hiking and that sucked. The ride up was great but we did not realize there was a wedding happening that would cause closure of the bridge and certain areas at specific times. Staff were very helpful though and suggested we do a trail (probably to get rid of us). We did the panarama trail and it was underwhelming. Beautiful forest but we have seen lots of those on Vancouver island where we live. The chief lookout spot was beautiful but kids were whining about being tired and bored the entire walk there. The alpine trail was designed for kids which has it’s own entrance (off of the main picnic area - we missed it first time) and only runs in one direction due to the climbing etc. A staff member should have been around the trail start areas to answer people’s questions. There is no chance anyone with a stroller or leg or arm limitations could do the kid’s trail. I don’t know how anyone with kids under 3 or four could do this. Our five year old was fine doing the rock face climbs using embedded rebars as ladder rings but my blundstones could barely handle the roots and steep slippery drops. Everyone else had on grippy keen runners so they were okay. I was holding onto trees to keep me from slipping. There was supposed to be a scavenger hunt associated with this trail but we could not find the salamander and we were not able to figure out any of the missing gear besides a first aide kit. Either the stuff has gone missing or it is too hard for kids (and adults) to find. The signs along the kids trail were fun (lots of animals to learn about) but they were disappointed about not finding stuff. From the main lookout area the views are spectacular. We didn’t have time to do other trails but I’m not sure I’d bother unless guaranteed some different viewpoints. We didn’t stop for a beer at the restaurant since it was quite crowded with the wedding happening in a private area but I highly recommend savouring the view. Lots of picnic tables behind the restaurant and a small kids playground (good for up to age 4) perfect for a picnic. If not for the spectacular weather on our visit - I would find this attraction underwhelming. Only go when it is beautiful weather. The family pricing is $2 difference online and in person so we did not buy ahead. We stopped on our way to Whistler to give the kids a car break because the weather was so good.We did this while staying in Squarmish - highly recommended. The views going up and down the gondola we’re breathtaking (and slightly scary!). There are a number of different hikes, all clearly signposted and labelled for difficulty. Good value for money, amazing views. If in Vancouver don’t miss this. I’m not sure why this isn’t in the top ten of things to do in Vancouver. If in Vancouver don’t miss this. I’m not sure why this isn’t in the top ten of things to do in Vancouver. Probably because it is about an hours drive outside the city. It is well worth it. The views of the surrounding mountains and looking down on Howe Sound are just spectacular. There are 2 easy trails to walk for other nice views at the top. There are also 2 more advanced trails. Food and drink at the summit house. The ride up and down the gondola offer awesome views and it feels very safe, even if worried by heights. One family or group per gondola so you are not stuffed in. Go early because it gets busy. We went on a Sunday morning just after it opened so no crowd yet. A fun suspension bridge to cross if you want. We hit a perfect weather day. Well worth the price and the drive out and back.Excellent customer service! Fantastic food & AMAZING views! One of the highlights of our western Canadian adventure!
