This tour is an excellent way to understand not only Cretan wines but the culture and history of Crete. As winemakers from Australia we found this tour to be highly professional and educational. As a qualified sommelier, Anna has an excellent knowledge and passion for wine and we gained access to the winemakers (no easy task given it was vintage). Anna also gave background to the history of Crete and it's wine industry. Very comfortable transport and lunch was of high quality. Booking and communication was prompt. Excellent value and would highly recommend.I booked this trip for my wife for a day trip during our honeymoon in Chania. I booked this trip for my wife for a day trip during our honeymoon in Chania. We spent six days in Ireland, then six in Chania, and this was by far our favorite day of all of them. Anna Maria was our guide for the day, and by the end of the day it felt like we had been friends for years. I would highly recommend booking a trip with them. We are already figuring out our next trip.Vasilis was a very approachable and informative host. Both the olive oil and wines were delicious and reasonably priced prompting us to buy several bottles of each. Critically, Vasilis made the wine tasting very relaxed and unintimidating, making it easy to enjoy.

This tour is spectacular. Vasilis and Anna Maria are passionate about wine and Crete, and it shows. This is so much more than a wine and olive oil tour. We learned about the history of wine in Greece and drove all through the countryside of Crete. I felt like we saw the island in a way we wouldn’t have on another tour. We were greeted in the morning with mimosas (with fresh-squeezed OJ) and pastries. The tour started at the Cave of Saint John the Hermit, which was beautiful. Then we visited an olive farm and learned what real olive oil is supposed to taste like. (Everything you know olive oil in the U.S. is a lie.) Pro-tip: Don’t do what we did and refuse to check a bag. Plan to buy wine and olive oil. It was 50 euro for a case, and I’m kicking myself for not getting any. Then we visited the wineries, the last of which fed us a glorious meal while overlooking the Greek countryside. I have been searching high and low for the same Greek wines since returning home. They are hard to find, so again, pack up that suitcase. This tour gave us such an appreciation for Crete, and left us wanting to come back to explore. When I told Vasilis we could spend a week in Crete alone, he replied, “You could spend a week in Chania alone and not see everything.” He was right. I can not recommend this tour enough. We did the private tour with Anna who is an amazing Sommelier and a very special person. I can't say enough good things about her or the tour. We did the private tour with Anna who is an amazing Sommelier and a very special person. I can't say enough good things about her or the tour. From the second she picked us up, we knew we were in good hands. She told us the history of the wine industry in Crete which was very interesting and she told jokes along the way which kept it captivating. We visited two wineries with her. I've been on many wine tours and I've never had someone really talk us through the process of looking at, smelling, and tasting wine. She completely changed the way that we tasted wine. I can now actually explain to a Sommelier what type of wine I want aside from saying - I wan't something dry and not too sweet. It's a game changer. Anna was not only interested in showing us the wines, but also interested in learning about our lives. I didn't feel like I was with a tour guide - I felt like I was with a new friend that also knew a ton about wine and wanted to share that with us. The wines we tasted were wonderful and we ended up not only buying wines at the wineries, but also ordering them at every meal we had after that. We ended up seeing Anna at the end of our trip & meeting her husband. He was amazing as well and I imagine he wold also give a spectacular wine tour also. A friend of ours who was also in Crete took a tour with Anna before we did and her feedback to me was, "omg, you are going to LOVE Anna!". It is true, we loved her and we loved her wine tour. She is the type of person you never forget and you will always remember what she has taught you about wine. Also, she is super funny & witty and will have you laughing all day. If I ever return to Crete, she will be my first phone call!
