Our experience started off great even before we got there because our driver, Pablo was educating and pointing out things to our group the entire trip. Once we arrived, the grounds were pristine, listening to the chorus of monkeys. The hike is 5+ miles, I suggest proper shoes, with another person who makes sure to uncover every rock and leaf. You definitely leave with an amazing experience swimming in the springs and waterfalls, delicious meal from the 5 star chef and a thirst to learn even more about the Land of Senses.Amazing, once in a lifetime experience. Amazing, once in a lifetime experience. Pablo, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, nearly fluent in English, and was able to answer any question we had about the native plants and animals. While driving to the location we spotted a sloth above the road which was great to see. On our way out of the location he heard a toucan and we were able to see that. We saw spider monkeys, rare birds and other creatures. The location is incredible and if you are lucky enough to have Pablo, the experience will be unforgettable. What a peaceful way to spend a day learning about Costa Rica's environment. Let me start of by saying it is such a beautiful tour. Our tour guides Issac and Luis were great. They explained everything to us and we’re very patient. (We took a lot of pictures) Issac and Luis also offered to take pictures of our group along the way. Prior to the hike some of our group was a little worried that the hike it self would be to “hard” trust me if you think it will be too hard it’s not! It has certain points where we were a little out of breath but only for 2-3 minutes. It’s not hard at all so for anyone reading this who things they don’t want to do because it might be too difficult of a hike believe me, you can do it! We decided to go for the “luxury package”. Trust me when i say it was completely worth every penny. We got our own private pool along with 2 bottles of wine and a cheese and crackers plate. We were having such a good time we decided to order an additional bottle of wine lol. While swimming in our own private pool Luis and Issac took pictures of us with our phones while swimming but also gave us privacy when we needed it. It was truly one of the most wonderful experiences me and my group have experienced. I would definitely recommend it to everyone! We took a private tour, just three of us. We took a private tour, just three of us. Hernan was our guide and he was terrific. Very kind and knowledgeable. He showed us many animals and told us much about the plants and the jungle. He also took fantastic pictures, both with his camera, which he shared with us, and with my camera. He is definitely a skilled photographer and can do things I cannot do with an iPhone camera. We went at our own pace and had plenty of time to enjoy the waterfalls and pools. The hiking was moderately challenging, mostly because of several steep stairways. No special hiking skills needed, but a little bit of fitness is necessary to do the long version of the trail. Overall, very enjoyable and worthwhile.
