I took a day trip from Samarkand through the mountains to Sharisabz, the brith place of Timur. The trip through the mountains was great, the driver was a very nice guy and even though he only spoke a bit of English, he would recommend stops along the way for pictures, or a roadside bazaar. He was friendly and always asking if there was anywhere I would like to stop or anything I wanted to see both on the way there and back. Feruza met me at the city, which was a lot larger and more modern than I thought. There is a large complex here, with a variety of new buildings and a beautiful park. Feruza was a local and was very knowledgeable about the area. I enjoyed talking with her and she also brought along a helper, a student from one of her English classes. I enjoyed their company during the trip very much. Shopping in the bazaar was great also, with a chance to buy local fruits and souvenirs with the help of someone who knows their way around the sprawling marketplace. We had a very nice lunch at a local restaurant , some lamb and a local noodle dish, and I was back on my way to Samarkand. The trip organizers, who I used on other tours, were thorough, the trip was well planned and everything went very well. This is important in Uzbekistan. I was there almost a month and took several tours and they vary in quality. You can tell the professionals from the local taxi drivers who decide to start doing tours when you take the tour, it can be a little more difficult from a Viator or GetYourGuide listing because everybody looks good. On one tour, I took an 4 hour drive each way and had a driver basically drop me off at a mosque. He was a nice guy, stuck with me while I was walking around but spoke no English. I had booked a guided tour wih an English speaking guide and had paid a fee that was commensurate with that type of tour. So working with a place that is professional, has been doing this for a while and has made other tourists happy is an important thing. Thanks to all. It was a great trip! The local guide in Shahrisabz was an absolute delight. A smiley, happy woman who spoke perfect English and possesses a vast knowledge about her city and country. It was an absolute delight listening to her.

Very nice experience. Great history and great monument. People usually spend long time in famous large cities but Shahrisabz is truly an underestimated gem that nobody should miss. This was indeed a private tour. My parents and I were the only guests. Contact was smooth, got notified a few days before on WhatsApp about every details. They offered a super nice and comfortable suv, with a great driver picking us up with a sign at our hotel and very on time. There were two photo stops on our way to Shahrisabz, all very nice (actually we ended up stop three times since this trip was very flexible and at ease. The guide was also super sweet, very knowledgeable about the history and local traditions. It was such an enjoyable day.The scenery on the drive to and from Shahrisabz was absolutely stunning. The scenery on the drive to and from Shahrisabz was absolutely stunning. We made multiple photo stops and climbed on some of the boulders. We also made a stop at the "Valley of Demons" / "Devils Helmet" for some very special views. The city itself was also nice, although the amount of souvenir vendors who all sell the exact same items was bothersome. We would recommend going earlier in the year as it was very hot, but still okay, just bring a lot of water. Our guide was also very nice. Overall it was a good experience.
