We spent an awesome morning with Patrizia and learned a lot about traditional Sicilian cooking. The meeting point was in a central location and we started the class walking around the local markets, gathering the ingredients needed to prepare the days meal. Patrizia is very knowledgable and sweet and made us feel very comfortable cooking in her home. Above all else, the food was incredible: definitely one of our best and most memorable meals in Sicily. Thanks Patrizia!! Allison & JohnWe were two couples traveling through Sicily, and our wives wanted a cooking class. We were two couples traveling through Sicily, and our wives wanted a cooking class. We booked this class for the two of them, and just a couple of days before asked if we, the husbands, could join the dinner with our the class. Patrizia was most accommodating and for a reasonable charge we were invited to join at dinnertime. We all met at the meeting point, and found that two people scheduled did not show. Patrizia invited us to come early and watch the preparations. He atmosphere was warm, friendly, and personal. The women prepped, cut, choppied, kneaded, and helped serve a splendid meal. We spent hours eating and chatting with this wonderful, warm, and talented host. Appetizers of cheeses, olives, bread followed with pasta with an incredible sauce, and a swordfish roll with rice and seasonings. Dessert as well, all accompanied by wine and topped off with lemon cello.Patrizia’s market tour and cooking class was a highlight of my trip to Sicily. Patrizia’s market tour and cooking class was a highlight of my trip to Sicily. She took us through a tour of Palermo’s Capo market, stopping to pick up swordfish, eggplant, cheese, and other cooking supplies from the vendors. She then brought us to her apartment to begin cooking several classic Sicilian dishes. We had great wine and cheese the whole time while cooking, and then sat down to enjoy one of the best meals of our trip. I highly recommend Siciliandays for anyone looking to learn authentic Sicilian cooking techniques, taste delicious home-cooked food, and really immerse themselves in Sicilian culture. What a great experience. We went to a market to buy the food and they hen to a lovely apartment in a quiet street in Palermo. I was the only guest so I got a first hand look at the fantastic cuisine that is Siciliano. We met Patrizia at the steps of the Teatro Massimo on a gorgeous sunny September day. We really enjoyed walking through the market and stopping for a macchiato on route. There were just the two of us on the day so we had a really personal service and cooked (and drank) our way through the morning into the early afternoon. It was really nice to be introduced to some local dishes - which set us up well for the rest of our trip and meant we could look out for similar dishes at restaurants and food stalls.
