Italo of Tours Pompeii brought the ancient city alive for us. It is a massive outdoor museum without much shade in August. On our own, the teens could have turned sour but instead, we had 2.5 hours of highlights with historical, cultural and archeological tidbits. Italo’s passion and knowledge shone through despite the frequency with which he guides tours and it comes across as fresh. Having the private guide allowed the tour to be tailored to our needs and adapted as we went along. We stayed after our time with him to having been signposted to the bits we still had energy to explore due to his brilliant focused and well planned itinerary. The meeting spot was easy to find with parking nearby and entrance was facilitated and quick. His English was good and his love and respect for the site was clear, added to our enjoyment and allowed us to get the best out of this legendary site in the half-day of time we had. Highly recommended.Cannot say enough about how great this tour was. Guide Stefania was delightful and so knowledgeable. "Come on, family," she would say to our small group. She deserves a big raise. We were thrilled the next week when she was also our guide in Herculaneum, which is also not to be missed.

My family and I had a wonderful afternoon with Lello, who showed us the highlights of Pompeii which we would have not understood or appreciated without his explanations and historical context. This was a fantastic journey into the daily life of an ancient Roman town, and it was worth every penny to have an excellent guide bring it to life for us. The ruins are so vast, and he was able to take us to the main sites and point out others that we checked out on our own later. We also had quite an age range among our family members, from age 11 to 75, and he made sure that everyone was engaged and understood what they were looking at. Pompeii is a marvel and not to be missed. Thank you Lello!Rossana was an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide. She met us promptly and quickly engaged our kids. The whole family learned so much from her and she made the tour very interesting and exciting. We highly recommend her!!
