My boyfriend and I decided last minute to book a tour to the tunnels on our last day in Vietnam. The car ride was about 1.5 hours and we spent around 2 hours at the tunnels. We took the afternoon tour, and luckily it was not very crowded. After 3 weeks in Vietnam we have done quite a lot of tours and must say that Bao was by far the best tour guide we had. The tunnels itself are very interesting. However, the information we were given by Bao regarding Vietnamese history as well as the tunnels, was super valuable. In addition his English was extremely good plus you could see how passionate he is about his job. We had a great last dat in Vietnam and can highly recommend the tour! We booked the tour the day before via our hotel. When collected we were informed we were the only people on the trip by our guide, Tom. This was great and enabled us to essentially have a private tour. Our guide was polite, friendly and his English was excellent. He gave us information about what we’d be doing that day and answered all of our questions about Vietnam in general as well as the Cu Chi Tunnels. We stopped on the way at a handicraft centre- if you do decide to buy anything double check the prices as quite pricey. Ben Duoc site was extremely interesting and our guide talked us through each part. Overall great trip, good value for money and we really enjoyed it.
