You can walk 200m into St Herman's Cave without a guide - top tip is to rent a flashlight at the entrance to the park, as phone torches aren't really up to the job. Cycled from there down to the Blue Hole for a lovely refreshing swim.Relaxing and informative cave tubing experience perfect on a rainy day. Relaxing and informative cave tubing experience perfect on a rainy day. This is one of the activities arranged by the front desk at The Sleeping Giant while vacationing in Belize. Our guide, Urland was patient rounding up our group of 6. Allow 2 hours and an extra 30 minutes to make a stop (driving) to the Blue Hole next door. A brief 10-min. hike with your inner tube to get to the cave. Highly recommend! This was a very pleasant cave tubing tour. Our guide, Pedro explained some of the history of the area and of Belize - he was an excellent guide. The tubing trip was not very long (I wish it was longer), but very relaxing.

He shared a lot of information and taught us how to go safely into the underworld. We also did a Maya baptism in the cave. At both places, we had it all to our selves.

There are changing facilities there too if needed.

The trails are nicely maintained and the interpretive signage is well done. Paying for the experience to see this is a great way to support this natural treasure.
