There's no better way to learn about a place than through it's food, which is why my husband and I jumped at the chance to take a walking, eating tour through St. John's on our recent trip to Newfoundland. We knew quite a bit about the place before we arrived, but not nearly as much as we thought, and we were thrilled to be guided around St. John's by the intelligent and engaging tour guide, David. We talked about everything from the cod fishery and moratorium to music and politics on this great tour, which featured incredible food at every stop. It was a great way to start our time on the Island and I highly recommend itMy daughter and I absolutely loved this tour! My daughter and I absolutely loved this tour! Much more than a food tour (although the food was great!) as the guide told us stories about the history and culture of St. John’s and NL. He was also able to answer any questions that people had. It was about 3 hours, and we walked through the downtown area. We saw some jellybean row houses too. We had 6 food stops. I was very impressed at how well the tour coordinated the food service. We basically arrived at the stop, sat down, and had fresh, hot food served up within a few minutes. The portions were perfect and tasty. You won’t leave hungry! The tour guide provided recommendations for other things to do, and places to eat. We enjoyed meeting the other people on the tour as well. Highly recommend whether it’s your first day being in the city, or being a tourist in your own home. A very fun day.Had a great experience on our tour! Dave was fun and knowledgeable - shared interesting facts, stories and taught us about St. John’s.
