Interesting market tour and cooking class with a lot of recipes and different techniques to try out. Wayan Remi picked us up and took us through one of the local markets explaining local fruit and animals for sale. Ta-ta, the chef, walked us through 9 dishes which sounds like a lot, but really really we just needed to do parts of the prep or cooking. No deep frying, or waiting in front of a boiling pot.10/10 would definitely recommend doing this if you can. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the class was great and food amazing! Just what we were looking for for a glimpse into Balinese culture.

We booked the Balinese cookery class as a family of 4 with two teenagers. The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The guide and chef, Wayan, explained the background to the ingredients used in Balinese cooking, the variations of ginger, use of candlenuts ( like macadamia)and mix of spices for each dish. We had a chance to taste a little of each dish we cooked and then saved the main part for the banquet at the end. Full marks for ensuring that my wife, who is a coeliac, could enjoy all of the food through the use of gf soya sauce and separating some of the dishes. What also struck me was the pride and enthusiasm that Wayan and the lovely family team who assisted us. Start to finish was 4/4.5 hours. Definitely worth booking. This was a fantastic experience. This was a fantastic experience. Being taken through the local markets really gave you an experience of the local culture and how different things can be. The guide was very informative and showed us a variety of different local fruits to try, many I have never heard of. The markets were definitely an experience and not what you would be used to. The cooking was also extremely well organised and showed a wide variety of amazing local foods. Chefs ensured all people were catered for (vegetarians etc.) and that the class ran smoothly. This is a unique experience and well worth it!!!Great day - great food would highly recommend. Booked this tour based on previous reviews and it did not disappoint.

We had such a great time yesterday learning how to prepare Balinese dishes. Wayan and his family are just starting the business, but they are like a pro organizing the cooking class. He took us to the traditional market, and introduced us to a variety of staple Balinese cooking ingredients. The rest of the tour was chopping, frying, grilling, and enjoying the food we made. He and his sister also taught us how to make Cenang sari (offering). It is a good experience to connect with other Travellers- we met a wonderful group from Canada. Thank you Wayan for your generosity!
