We booked this activity about a week before. Our guide (JP) picked us up to go on our Swakopmund tour. He was a super friendly and nice guy, who was also well informed about Namibia. The first stop was Dune 7. He dropped us off and gave us the opportunity the climb it, if we wanted too. After Dune 7 he took us around the best spots of Swakopmund (including a museum and the Kristal Gallerie). This tour gave us a good look at Swakopmund and it's best spots. After the Swakomund tour we had lunch at the beach. The food was very good and champagne was offered. We had a wonderful day and could only recommend this to everyone. JP told us they do loads of other activities too (including Etosha with possible pick ups from Windhoek). If you are looking for a well organised, friendly and laid back company, I would absolutly recommand Red Dune Safaris! Steve & Carole (Belgium)Nice day in the desert and German city of Swakopmund. Nice day in the desert and German city of Swakopmund. Our guide, Jurgen, was timely in picking us up and provided great insight into the German culture and history of Namibia. Gave a great overview of Swakopmund that allowed us to make the most of our free time exploring the city. As an added bonus, he took us on a side trip before we got to Swakopmund to view a herd of springbok grazing on a golf course. Our cruise ship, Queen Elizabeth, advertised the Swakopmund tour but unfortunately it was only for fit, healthy people. Our cruise ship, Queen Elizabeth, advertised the Swakopmund tour but unfortunately it was only for fit, healthy people. I contacted Red Dunes Safaris direct and they assured me their staff would help us into the 4x4 vehicle and take my mobility scooter. On disembarking we were met by a lovely young lady in a beautiful car which they had sent as they thought I'd be more comfortable in it! My scooter fitted into the boot. We had a fantastic day with a very knowledgeable guide, toured Walvis Bay, then on to the famous train museum. The day was unhurried and perfect, we stopped at the harbour in Swakopmund but the dolphins were shy and didn't make an appearance. The Krystal museum was amazing. We stopped at Dune 7 and met up with another vehicle for a picnic. Although the bar didn't allow non-patrons to use their facilities, our girl marched in and persuaded them to let us use them. It was a perfect day, tailored to our needs at no extra cost. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Excellent tour guide and an interesting tour of the city and surrounds. Lunch and a drink on the beach was a great way to end this tour.
