Tasmanian Wine Tour
Overview
On our full day Wine Tour we visit 4 of southern Tasmania’s best wine producers. You'll have the opportunity to meet some of the winemakers and taste a range of award winning, hand crafted, cool climate wines. Tastings may include world class sparkling wines, crisp cool climate white wines and velvety, seductive reds. During vintage you'll see grapes being processed and wines fermented, throughout the year you'll see grapes growing in the vineyard and wines maturing in barrel rooms. You may be lucky enough to try wine direct from the tanks or the barrels, depending on the time of the year and what the winemaker is working on that day. Expect a day packed full of wine tasting, tours, conversations and even some local cheeses thrown in for good measure.

Drank a wide range of stuff from Ciders, Wines, Whiskey and Beer. The journey was made all the more fun by the interesting people we met at each of the tasting sites and hearing their stories. We also got into the technicals of how the various spirits were made which was interesting. The scenery on the way was also wonderful with picturesque roads, apple orchards and vineyards and such clean air in the open countryside. A real highlight of the tour was our guide Taz, who doesn't need any booze to be cheerful and gregarious - his knowledge and history of the land and the sites in particular was interesting, and he peppered the trip with a lot of humour and conversation about pretty much anything you want to know about Tasmania. Our Tasmanian Wine Tour was hosted by Tim, an expert guide to the wines and the localities. Wine tastings were expertly conducted by the respective wineries with great commentary on each wine. We tasted a wide variety of wines in each. We were always welcomed and met charming hosts. Standouts included Nick at Puddleduck and Barry at Craigow and their unique and beautifully crafted wines. It was easy to drink and easy to buy and ship directly home. Lunch in Richmond was also very good. The company of other wine lovers on the tour made the day a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Highly recommended and be sure to ask for Tim as your guide. We had an absolutely fabulous time with Tim on our wine tour.
