We arrived in Naples aboard the Konningsdam of the Holland America Line on Oct. 17th. We were met at the port by our Guide Aldo Ruocco . We immediately could tell he was passionate about what he does and his city. As the tour started we observed that Aldo had all the qualities of a outstanding tour guide, he was very knowledgeable, friendly, polite, passionate, engaging and eager to help with recommendations. As we walked (easy stroll)from the port to the first stop passing by and learning the history of many of the historic sites of the city. Aldo taught us about the significance of the Castle, royal palace, opera house and the piazza. We stopped for coffee, a very flavorful enjoyable espresso in a lovely bar with very friendly servers. Then it was of to a local pizzeria where we were served an authentic Naples pizza. A pizza from the city where it all started. We saw a local sign that stayed” THOSE WHO NEVER HAD ONE IN NAPLES DO NOT KNOW WHAT REAL PIZZA IS” Never were TRUER words written. Next we were off to the galleria for a view of the inside of this historical stop and a wonderful “sfogliatella” one of my most favorite Italian pastries! It did not disappoint. As we finished our pastry we strolled trough the neighborhood filled with locals enjoying their morning. We arrived at the next stop, a pleasant surprise of a local street food restaurant. We enjoyed the deep fried pasta, what a treat! I wished I grabbed a cone of the street food for the walk. (Suggestion, as you leave buy a cone of the sampler for your walk, it will make you happy) I cannot say enough good things about this tour and Aldo! The tour was worth every penny and I recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed. I hope you are blessed with the pleasure of having Aldo Ruocco as your guide. He is one of the best tour guides we have ever had through our many travels.Marianna led us on a wonderful walking tour of Naples. We had lots of good food, and she showed us many interesting sights in the Spanish quarter.

This is a great tour. Francesco was a great guide - knowledgeable and friendly and very helpful with recommendations at the end of the tour. He really gave us a great flavor of the city, both food-wise and culturally! The food was delicious and unique and it was wonderful to be able to see this side of Naples with someone who clearly has a love for this unique city.An amazing tour when you have a broad view of Napolitan gastronomy. I'lll never forget the tastes here because Naples is much more than "the land where the pizza Margherita was invented". Aldo also is a great and funny guide that made our visit much more interesting!
