Whenever we are in Romania, we make sure to tske a tour with Vladi. He is full of knowledge, nice, warm and gives best value for money. Altough he offers buss tours we allways prefer to take private tours, even if they cost more. Today we took Vladi's advice snd went to the huge Salt mines - the largest one in Europe. We enjoyed the beautifull raoad to and from the mibes as well as Vlad's great stories of Romanian history and culture. We did a private tour with Vlad to the Salt Mine, Peles Castle and the cable car. It was a family favorite for myself, spouse and my 20 year old son. We did a private tour with Vlad to the Salt Mine, Peles Castle and the cable car. It was a family favorite for myself, spouse and my 20 year old son. It was a wonderful combination because it was a 2 hour ride to the salt mine and on the way you get a great overall history of Romania. Vlad is open and honest and answers whatever questions you may have. You spend the day together so a relationship is built and Vlad then recommended restaurants for us to try that is great food, price and authentic. The salt mine is a huge cavernous space that must be experienced hard to describe. Peles Castle was the most tourist location we went to in Romania. We went on a Thursday but it was still very full and the location has only 2 restrooms for ladies. The lines to see the inside of the castle is long so if this is a must on your list plan accordingly. The castle and the grounds are beautiful. The cable car/gondola to the top of the Carpathian mountain is spectacular and not enough people experience this. The views are breathtaking. There are more mountains than the eyes can see. I highly recommend Vlad and this tour and I am sure all the other tours that he does will be with professionalism, enthusiasm and fun!Book this trip over the web and looked forward to seeing the Peles castle. However, on another tour we took as told that castle was closed on Monday and Tuesday! No warning on the website etc of this so very pissed off!! Book this trip over the web and looked forward to seeing the Peles castle. However, on another tour we took as told that castle was closed on Monday and Tuesday! No warning on the website etc of this so very pissed off!! Driver was sympathic about it but there should have been a warning only open Wed to Fri to be fair to tourists who are buying the tour and expect to see what is offered. Salt mine was just amasing such a large holes cut in the rock just amasing!!! The guide was good and offered a safe drive and good knowledge, hence a good finish. However, it is still not good that the customer was offered no warning that thye could not visit the inside of the castle on their tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!An incredible experience to visit this underground salt mine 2 hours from Bucharest. The microclimate is spectacular and it is really impressive. It only costs about $10 per person.
