Easy way to see the glacier without spending the money of an excursion. It is exactly what it says it is. No thrills, just a bus ride done and back, leaving every 30 minutes. They do give a narrations on the way to and from. I definitely would recommend!

They drive you to the Mendenhall Glacier and give you a guided tour along the way. They go back and forth between the port every 30 minutes.

They were on time and the cheapest way we could find to get down to the glacier. Our driver was assigned the route last minute and he didn’t have the narration script so he improvised. Our driver was assigned the route last minute and he didn’t have the narration script so he improvised. Didn’t know Walmart failed in Juneau after 6 years because the locals banded to support the local family owned business-Fred Myers and Safeway Supermarket. Friendly gent. He also wasn’t used to driving a school bus. He slammed the breaks the first time not knowing how well they would work. Gave us all a jolt. Still the best value to Tongass National Forest and Mendenhall Glacier. We were only one on bus so that was good , made it more personal. Unfortunately, weather was not cooperating so experience was cold and wet. Basically it was a bus ride to glacier and back. Trip back driver pointed out where she had seen a bear earlier in day at landfill.

Plus it only took 20-25 mins to get there. When we took the city bus it took over an hour and was not as comfortable by any means. We got on the blue bus at the Glacier and they quickly worked the credit card - it only cost 20.00 to return to Juneau. Super value!
