We specialize in semi-private tours (no more than 10 riders at the time) where you are free to roam about our over 1, 000 acre cattle ranching farm under the supervision of our guides.
The ride includes amazing views through open spaces that include tropical fruit tree forests, ponds, hills cattle driving and much more.
If what you are looking for is crowds and souvenirs you probably need to go somewhere else, this is an actual working farm where you'll experience the real life in the Dominican countryside.

What to expect
Rancho Cana Tequila gives you the opportunity to live the ultimate Dominican riding experience. An array of activities that will help you experience up close a day in the life of the Dominican rural population. A 2 and a half hour 5.93 mile horse adventure that will take you through the daily tasks of the real Dominican cowboy.
Your transport will pick you up at your hotel in our comfortable units, on our 30 min ride to the ranch we will drive through quaint little towns and spectacular views just before you get a taste of our country´s tradition in a panoramic tour of the Cathedral of our lady De La Altagracia patron of the city of Higüey.
Once at the Ranch you will be greeted by our staff who will brief you on security measures and riding instructions before you mount your horse. You will feel the adrenaline of riding among more than 300 heads of cattle, help our staff herd them through the ranch always under the supervision of our experienced guides, you will delight in our breath taking 360 degree panoramic view from the top af a mountain . Leave your legacy in the Dominican Republic with the sowing of Cocoa beans in our international plantation and taste the different species of tropical fruits that grow in the wild in our property.
Once back at the stables taste the typical Dominican flavor with our ranchero lunch and witness an exhibition of our prize winning stallions, top representatives of the Paso Higüeyano breed native to the Dominican Republic.

What a great experience, my wife and I booked up for the morning ride and we’re not disappointed. We we met at our hotel by the owner / lead guide “Arturo” He is a real friendly persons and has great interpersonal skills being able to speak fluent English and Spanish. He’s a very warming likeable person that puts you at ease immediately, a great way to start the day😊 From Punta Cana it takes approx 35 minutes to the horse ranch and during the journey there was constant communication, no uneasy silence. Arturo gave a great overview about the Dominican Republic and how he ended up starting a business in this region. Arturo originally came from Mexico and after a fascinating story ended up starting his horse ranch, a massive change from selling time shares. It was our first riding experience in the Dominican Republic, but there was no need to worry as everything went fine. In fact I would go as far to say it was probably the best holiday activity we have undertaken. And will most defiantly do it again when we return ion our next vacation. The ride itself and the horses were forgiving for us inexperienced riders, the instructions and equipment supplied was spot on. The actual track, the scenery and views were breath taking. The riding went up to a small mountain range, we crossed a few slow running water courses and once at the top of the mountain range had local refreshments, though these were a added bonus the scenery was enough on its own. After a 20 minute rest on the mountain top it was a slow track back down again via a different route. Finally we arrived back at the starting point and was then supplied further refreshment and some local cuisine made by the locals , again another treat the was expected. At the end of the experience both my wife and I commented that we didn’t want the experience to end, it really was a memorable day that will be remembered for a long time. Well done to Arturo and his local staff (and dogs) for making us feel so welcome, for giving us a great day with the horses and for allowing us to see some breath taking scenery. Simply an amazing experience!! Arturo and his lovely dog, Kira, came to pick me up on time, and I heard a lot of interesting details about the country on the way to the ranch. I happened be the only person on this tour, and Arturo and his assistant, Redi, both made me feel really comfortable about it. The ranch is in a small village which allows you to see a glimpse of the real life in DR and outside the resorts, all while being in good hands and 100% safe. The ride on the horses to the mountain top through the jungle was absolutely breathtaking, I don’t even have the words to describe the views! The trip was really excellect and would do it again. Everthing was great. Our guide Arturo picked us up in front of the hotel. He is a real friendly persons. From Punta Cana it takes approx 35 minutes to the horses. He have explained us a lot about Domenican Republic, cattles or coconuts. It was our first riding experience but everthing went fine. the riding and view was great. The riding went up to a small mountain. You are crossing a few rivers. Ob the top we ate fresh cacoa. Afterwant the pause on the mountain it went down again with some more speed. Finally we arrived back and got some very delicious food. By now it was the best food during our stay!
