We had a marvelous day exploring the coffee farm and processing in the blue zone. This was a full day leaving Coco and traveling to the mountains near Hojancha. Karina has a passion for the coffee co-op and provided great information about the area, the growing process and processing. Our host family provided the best farm to table breakfast and then off to the farm and jungle exploring and learning about the coffee berries. Afterwards was the processing facility where we learned about how they processed the coffee and dried the berries. We learned about tasting and the different levels of roasting. We also had a lunch at another location, again farm to table that was delicious. Thank you Karina for your expertise and keeping us informed throughout the day.Loved every minute of this tour with Karina. I have gone on 4 tours now with Karina and I can honestly say that she is one of the best! The coffee tours are so informative! Karina knows so much about the coffee industry, Costa Rican culture and history. She goes out of her way to make sure you have a wonderful experience. But the best part is the relationships that she has with the farmers. Starting your morning with breakfast at one of the farmer's homes is truly one of the best experiences that you could have. This is always one of the highlights for my groups. I highly recommend hiring Karina for a coffee tour on your next trip to the Guanacaste region. You won't regret it!
