After meeting and greeting, the Govt. of India Approved and licensed guide shall accompany you and show Tipu Palace. Its a 230 year old palace, all in teak wood, and built in typical Islamic architecture, showing the diwas-e-am and diwan-e-khas. Also, a brief history of Tipu Sultan, his trysts with the French, the Anglo-Mysore wars, his contributions and controversies shall all be discussed. A visit to the Museum in the premises throws more light on how he came to be known as the Grandfather of Rocket Science in the whole world!

This temple is adjoining the Tipu Palace. It was built in 1690 AD by Chikkadevaraja Wodeyar and showcases wonderful stone sculptures of Indian mythological characters on its walls. The highly carved and ornate stone columns inside the temple reflect high quality workmanship of our artists. Hindu devotees have to book months in advance to offer "Kalyanotsava" (marriage ceremony of Lord Vishnu with Lakshmi) in this temple. It is said that the Garuda Gamba of this temple saved Tipu Sultan from a cannon ball attack from Cornwallis which would have otherwise fell on his palace. The next stop is the Bangalore Fort which is a 10 minute walk from here.

Kempegowda, the founder of Bangalore, built a mud fort in the 16th CE which was rebuilt in stone by Hyder Ali in 1760s. Only about 5% of this Fort remains and is now open to visitors. Very neatly maintained, this largely unknown monument is worth visiting.

The principle tenets of Jainism are - Non-violence and Vegetarianism. The Jain community forms less than 0.4% of India's population but they contribute more than 24% to personal tax collections in the country. Jains own more than 28% Indian property and has the highest literacy rate at 94%. Nearly half of India's stockbrokers are Jains. Their contribution to the success of Indian business houses is worth its weight in gold. Entry to a Jain temple is subjected to certain conditions and restrictions.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! I was booked for an afternoon tour, but couldn’t get an Uber so I had to cancel at the last minute. Instead of forfeiting the cost the tour guide called me and offered to meet the next day in the morning. His knowledge of each site was excellent, detailed information about the history and culture. Walking to and experiencing the market was fascinating to see. It was the day before a holiday so the market and surrounding streets were packed with people. It was so nice to get to see and experience daily life with the local residents. I felt safe and secure as we made our way through the crowds. We stopped for filtered coffee which was amazing. As we were leaving Vasuki and his fellow guide helped me get an Uber and waited with me until I was on my way back to my hotel. If you’re in the Bengalore area you must consider taking this tour!michellemU1723BZ

Mr. Vasuki was an exceptional tour guide. He was a wealth of knowledge only in the sites that we saw but also about living in Bangalore. He went above and beyond in multiple ways: - we were running late and he checked with the rest of the group and they agreed to wait for us - he bought flowers...
Mr. Vasuki was an exceptional tour guide. He was a wealth of knowledge only in the sites that we saw but also about living in Bangalore. He went above and beyond in multiple ways: - we were running late and he checked with the rest of the group and they agreed to wait for us - he bought flowers for me and my coworker to put in our hair -it was pouring outside when the tour ended and our uber kept cancelling. He waiting about 30 minutes for our car to come to make sure we got in safely -we ended at a little hole in the wall spot and he bought us all some delicious filter coffee. -he guided us through the metro so we would all be able to call a car farther away from the busy market area The tour was also excellent because we were not bombarded with other tour groups. It felt like we were getting a more local experience. We also felt extremely safe the entire time. No one tripped or got hit by any traffic! 10/10 recommend.Michel_K

This tour exceeded my expectations. I saw a lot in a short period of time and the guide (Vasuki) and his trainee (Ragu) were very knowledgeable about the areas they took us too. I love the way they respected and engaged with the locals. I am a female and was there with a female colleague from work and we felt safe in their presence because they seemed to be very caring. They gave us time to take pictures and they took pictures of us as well. I highly recommend this tour!
