My husband and I did the Islamabad guided city tour with Ghulam and his driver (sorry but we can't remember his name). Ghulam is amongst the best guides we have had in all of the countries around the world that we have visited over the past 25 years or so. Ghulam is very knowledgeable and personable and he managed to include a lot of sights to our day without us feeling too rushed. It was also great that we were able to customise the tour to our interests, and Ghulam even arranged a couple of great surprises for us during the day, most notably a chance to meet Sayed Gul Kalash, an archaeologist who works to preserve endangered Kalash culture (thank you Sayed for your warm hospitality and a change to hear directly from you about you and your work). I feel we learnt a lot about Pakistan and its rich tapestry of history and culture from Ghulam. Although the day was long, the time was certainly well spent. We would choose Ghulam as our guide should we ever visit Pakistan again which says a lot about how much we enjoyed the tour.Mr Ghulam was such an excellent tour guide, we did 3 tours with him during our one week stay in Pakistan.
