If you want an authentic, from-the-inside view of a small French wine producer, this is unbeatable. This is not a big, commercial enterprise run by hired managers, with summer-students doing the tours. It's a family business, with two generations of the Robert family running the show. Myriam, the host, is married to the son of the older Robert couple, who were relaxing in the barn, out of the sun, while she gave a comprehensive tour. We saw the vinyards, the pressing machinery, and the beautiful troglodyte cellars, carved into the cliffs. She speaks super English, but will also speak slow and clear French for those who want to make the effort. The vineyard is Vouvray AOC, and production is entirely Chenin blanc grapes. They make a wide range of wines from this one grape: still, sparkling (petillant), champagne-like (cremant), and dessert-style (liquoreux). And this was perhaps the most fascinating part of the tasting: understanding how different techniques can change the style of the wine, while retaining the underlying Chenin blanc character. Top marks, too, for the cheese and meat snacks with the wine.My friend and I went on the vinyard tour and tasting in late March. My friend and I went on the vinyard tour and tasting in late March. After getting lost on the way we were given very helpful instructions and were picked up by the lovely guide to help us get there. The tour was both beautiful and educational, learning lots about viticulture and vinification in this AOC and other areas, all whilst admiring the vinyard and the views! After a tour around the incredible cellars and the winery we then got to taste 6 delicious wines accompanied by local delicacies. It was a wonderful afternoon and I would highly recommend it, I might even return at a different time of year to see the changes in the vinyard!

Following that, we toured the wine making area and the cellar. We ended the time with wine tasting with food pairings. The wine and food were all wonderful! It was a very informative tour! It's hard to reach from Amboise using public transportation but Myiam helped us set up a taxi to and from the vineyard. I highly recommend this tour!

The local snacks we sampled were unique (to us) and tasty. We were visiting from California and had not had much experience with French wine, so this was an incredible introduction! Merci, Myriam!

After a pretty bus ride along the Loire through the little villages, we were met by Myriam who drove us the short distance to the winery owned by her family. On the way we stopped and walked through a vineyard and Myriam explained the region, the soil, the vines etc and answered our hundred questions.
After this we went to the winery where we shown the hand dug cellars and learnt more about Vouvray. To conclude we tasted six wines accompanied by a wonderful selection of local cheeses and meats.
To top it all, it was snowing on the day we were there!
It truly was a magical tour which was enhanced by the wonderful host.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest in wine and seeing wine making up close!

My wife & had a wonderful afternoon in the company of Myriam. She took us on an extensive tour of the family wine-making operation including the vineyards, cellar and tasting room. She took us on an extensive but gentle walking tour that also showed us some of the ancient caves around the town of Vouvray, some of which have now been converted into dwellings that can even be rented for the experience. Once she realised we had a reasonable knowledge of wines and growing techniques (as we live close to one of the world's great wine-making regions in Margaret River) she opened right up and we were able to enjoy her detailed knowledge and deep family history. A visit deep within the family cave, largely carved from rock by hand, was one of the highlights, as well as tasting the delicious varieties. Thank you Myriam - an afternoon well spent!
