Had a great trip trekking with guide Jamal Kassim at Bale Mountains Authentic Tours. Camped one night close to a Ethiopian wolf den and spent lots of time watching four cubs playing; such an incredible sight. Spectacular views walking through the landscape with plenty of sightings of Mountain Nyala, Menelek Bushbuck, Rock Hyrux, Mole Rats, etc. It was a particularly cold few nights with sub-zero temperatures but fortunately we had two sleeping bags each. Jamal and team did a great job; we ate well and everything was organised very well. Jamal can be contacted at [email protected] or WhatsApp +251912767179.I went on a trip with Tanian Ethiopia Tours to the Bale Mountains with my friend. Me and four friends camped in the Bale Mountains with the help of our great guide Mohammed. We stayed in a campsite with wild animals roaming around - warthogs near our tents! We went on several relaxed nice walks in the park, and did one big adventure to the second highest peak in Ethiopia. We had a great time. Ali G, a great chef cooked delicious vegetarian meals for us. We had a warm campfire which prepared us for the cold nights and there were beautiful views of the stars. A lovely trip that I would recommend. Mohammed was very accommodating and speaks good English. It was interesting to speak to him about the park and the work that is being done to increase tourism in a responsible way.We were 9 days in Ethiopia with children aged 14,12,6. We were 9 days in Ethiopia with children aged 14,12,6. We hiked with our guide Ayouba Ahmed :) We hiked in several places in the mountains and South Ethiopia, but much of the hike was in the mountains: we rode horses, toured the plateau and saw red wolves, slept in a local hut, and witnessed the wonderful nature of the people, animals, waterfalls and plants. All the way Ayouba controlled the area, adapted himself to our desires and the ability of the children, but did not give up on us so that our experience would really be maximized. Highly recommended.I did the 3 days / 4 nights trekking in April 2022. It was an amazing experience and very beautiful, we saw plenty of wildlife and lots of wolves. I did the 3 days / 4 nights trekking in April 2022. It was an amazing experience and very beautiful, we saw plenty of wildlife and lots of wolves. According to the guides, you are almost 100% guaranteed that you will spot them. I wasn't even there at the coldest time of the year, but I was still very cold at night - so do pack warm clothes. Jamal was a great guide, he understood when I hinted in my frist enquiry that I was on a budget & made me an offer where we carried everything ourselves. His English is really good and he responded to all my questions via e-mail in advance super fast. I highly recommend him as a guide for this trip, you can reach him at [email protected] or Whatsapp him at +251912767179. He was very flexible also when my flight data changed and adapted the trip accordingly. We did 3 nights of trekking through the Bale National Park with a night either side in Robe and Goba. Our guide through all of this was Ahemd Alo (Bale Mountains tours). Ahmed is a local man from Dinsho who is a wealth of knowledge and runs a very professional business. Highly recommend.
