I don't write many tripadvisor reviews (I think this is the 2nd time I've felt compelled to do so), but this was really special. Amazing tour from the friendliest, most knowledgable local guides we've ever met! At first we were hesitant, as they did not have a robust web presence like the big tour companies, but after chatting with Naina on WhatsApp we decided to roll the dice and go with the truly local team. Honestly, you should reach out to Naina on WhatsApp so he can answer any questions, and make any customizations to the trip you need. His number is [+261 34 91 820 27] Naina and his team have decades of experience guiding Tsingy, Kirindy, and all of the attractions in the Morondava area. We are so glad we went with Naina rather than spending double with one of the large national tour operators who are based out of the capital hundreds of miles away. We preferred to book our own hotels, meals, etc as we enjoy doing so (and all the hotels are available to book on hotels.com). There's lots of options at different price points. Naina can make suggestions! As for the experience itself-- Naina and our driver were waiting at the airport when we arrived. After a warm greeting, they helped us exchange some cash (all hotels, restaurants, etc are cash-only out in Tsingy), and we were on our way. If you haven't heard already, the road to Tsingy is a long 4x4 road through the Madagascar countryside. If you've never traveled by 4x4, do know that it is quite bumpy and dusty. A real adventure! We made a number of great stops both on the way out and the way back; including the Avenue of Baobabs (sunset stop here on the way back was magical), Kirindy forest to see the rare mouse lemur (and other lemurs as well), and the famous Mad Zebu restaurant for a gourmet lunch in the countryside. The experience in Tsingy park itself was great as well. A local guide (from the park service) leads this portion (Naina joins as well, and is actually former park service local guide himself). It is a very beautiful and special place with unique geology. The hike does involve climbing some ladders and using a harness with carabiners, as you hike across narrow rocky areas (similar to hikes in Dolomites). We saw lemurs and beautiful birds, reptiles, and more on this hike. On the way back, Naina takes you to Kirindy forest to try and see the rare mouse lemur. We were lucky enough to see one (pic attached)! This is a huge benefit of going with the local tour; as the national tour operators will tell you that you must spend a full night staying in Kirindy to experience this (we made it in a 45 minute stop). We ended the day with sunset at the Avenue of Baobabs and got some amazing photos (Naina is also a great photographer). TL;dr: A wonderful experience with truly local guides. Would absolutely recommend.Tsingy was the main target we went to Madagascar for and it was definitely the best experience on the island! If you didn’t go to Tsingy, then you didn’t go to Madagascar! Tsingy was the main target we went to Madagascar for and it was definitely the best experience on the island! If you didn’t go to Tsingy, then you didn’t go to Madagascar! Naina sent us the tour plan with all the details for each day of these 4 days and picked us up right in the airport of Morondava so since then we didn’t have to worry about anything. We had the best team, a very good tour guide Gera, with a good English (not really easy to find in Madagascar, since French is the second language there) and knowledge about everything we asked him about, he is a very very kind and funny guy we ever met;) and a very experienced driver Lazare ( believe me, very important skills in Madagascar and especially roads to Tsingy;)) We visited Avenue of the baobabs, Kirindy Forest and had a night tour watching lemurs there, on the second day reached Bekopaka for overnight and on the third day visited Tsingy. Climbing Tsingy was a little bit hard but definitely possible, there are steps and stairs, and also we had a safety equipment on. That was a long trip, the road was very adventurous, sometimes we thought we will not be able to go further but our driver just drove us through! By the way we chose not the best season to visit Tsingy, end of November, and Naina warned us that due to rainy season we might walk for 1,5 hours more as the car will not be able to go on the flooded roads but at the end we were lucky and our car was able to take us right to the point;) And upon arrival to Antananarivo everybody we met said the Park is closed already and it’s absolutely impossible to go there, and advised us not to fly to Morondava at all. We were really in doubts then but took a risk and never regretted! As I already mentioned we had the best team;) We also met other tourists on the way to Tsingy, which booked a tour through another agency, and they had some issues with the car or not English speaking guide, we had nothing to complain about at all, everything was organised very well! Thank you Naina, this tour is definitely recommended! And I hope many more tourists will find this underestimated and far away but definitely worth full place on the earth!Naina is a perfect guide! Naina is a perfect guide! He organised a wonderful tour to tsingy, in which I was able to see even more than had been promoted. Also Naina helped me a lot by his advices about staying in Mada and seeing other attractions. He is very nice and interesting person and it was a big pleasure to communicate with him! Tsingy are extremely interesting and such type of landscape cannot be seen in any other places besides Mada, so they are "must see", when you travel there. I highly recommend this tour!We spent 4 days visiting a park near Kirindy, Baobas avenue and Tsingy. We spent 4 days visiting a park near Kirindy, Baobas avenue and Tsingy. We really loved the trip and we are very grateful to Naina and the driver for the amazing time together, the flexibility in accommodating our requests on the way to Tsingy (different restaurant for lunch, longer stops for pictures) and for letting us try some authentic tastes (street food and local rhum). In addition, we really lovel Naina taking us pictures during the trip and the accommodation near the Tsingy National Park was very nice! My friend and I had the pleasure of having our trip arranged by the amicable Naina (despite only booking 2 weeks in advance). Naina regularly and positively responded to all my inquiries before arrival (safe to bring a laptop? any wifi at the lodges?) and also met with us the day before to help us change $, discuss trip in detail, and show us around town. We then set off for 4 days with our ever-curious and patient guide Gera, who was quite knowledgable re: both our cultural and ecological inquiries. Gera and our driver stepped up to face all the random difficulties that can happen on such trips (stuck in mud, police delaying progress to wait for convoys, etc.). All the sites were well worth visiting and accommodations just fine. If you commit to staying "Mura, Mura" ("let's just stay relaxed!"), you'll have a great time on this trip. Recommended!
