I met Edgar by the beach after reading some reviews and listening to fellow guest experiences. It was my friend’s birthday and I wanted to do something to celebrate. Wow … did I pick the right person to help me plan this surprise !! I decided on the private tour which meant we had our transport to ourselves - this was great as we could put all our bags etc in the 4 x 4 while we sat on the back. Our guide was Marcelo, he was so knowledgeable and passionate about his country and also attentive to what we wanted out of the day. NO STRESS was definitely what we got!!! He was amazing. It was a beautiful sunny day so it was perfect. We first went to see the salt lake where we watched a man break up the salt by hand. We saw the Sleeping Lions, we had a view from the highest point in Sal, we went on a walking tour of the town. We went to see The Blue Eye and a swim in a salt lake ( I say swim it was a FLOAT in the lake !! ) In between all of this Edgar had arranged lunch which was fabulous. As an extra surprise for my friend I asked Edgar to organise a cake at the restaurant they took us to - It was unbelievable!!!! Marcelo booked the cake and it was delicious. I can’t thank Edgar and Marcelo enough for such a fabulous day. Please if you are staying in Sal use these people they won’t let you down.Edgar was great and Marchelo our tour guide was brilliant. Edgar was great and Marchelo our tour guide was brilliant. Our weather on our tour day wasn't the best but we saw every attraction he managed to get us to the blue eye at the exact time when the sun came out and we got wonderful photos. We stopped for lunch and it was excellent. And bought a few bargains on the way. We made friends with Edgar Pires before our holiday and he recognised us as we walked to the beach on our first day he was very welcoming and friendly. He even gave me cough sweets to help my sore throat and terribke cough he is a star 😍For too young guys to have so much factual historical knowledge about sal was a credit to them both. There interest in there job was fantastic. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with them.

We returned on Monday from an amazing holiday and during our 11 night stay we was able to truly experience this beautiful island, people and their culture. We went on a private Island tour which I think is a must and extremely good value for money. We also went on the zip line excursion, off road buggy driving, 1/2 day catamaran and horse riding on the beach. We booked all of these before and throughout our stay with Edgar Pires who was truly amazing and the information he gave us before flying was much appreciated. The third party companies he uses for the excursions were extremely professional and helpful throughout the excursions, which meant they went seamlessly with “No Stress”. I would definitely recommend exploring the island as it has lots to offer with so much beauty and 100% recommend Edgar for all your excursion needs. 🌞🇨🇻🏝We were picked up at the hotel by our tour guide Anisio. We were picked up at the hotel by our tour guide Anisio. He was the most friendly, knowledgable person and took us to all the main tourist spots on Sal. I have walking difficulties and he held my hand when necessary and made sure I also had a guide (called Natty) to take me over the rocks to see the baby lemon sharks. Natty spoke very good English and showed us many little sea creatures as well as the sharks. We had lunch in Palmeira which was very nice and we also visited a lovely little souvenir shop just down the road where we tried samples of local drinks. I wanted to visit the ‘forgotten dogs of Sal’ rescue centre. Anisio arranged for us to meet the guy who runs the kennels Balta who was also such a nice, friendly guy who spoke fluent English. Anisio took us to a shanty town as we had a bag of things for local children. This was a day I will never forget. Thanks to Edgar Pires for arranging and to Anisio who made our day so special.Great host. Good communication and flexible to support our adhoc needs. We had a lovely day and cut the planed tour to roam the town without any problem.
