We booked the whale watching experience with shuttle service, and got picked up downtown. The bus came right on time, and the driver pointed out landmarks and provided a bit of history on the way to Richmond. It seemed very organized. Once there, we checked in at the office and also had the opportunity to pick up a rain jacket/wind breaker (no extra cost). We had about 30 minutes to grab breakfast in town before boarding. We then departed, and the waters were extremely rough and bumpy, to the point where you had to hold on. We drove for about 45 minutes before our first whale sighting. We’d stay in the area for a while while admiring the whales and only driving short distances to get a better view. We went to 2 locations, and saw 4 whales in total. Due to the choppy waters, about half of the passengers got sick, but we heard these were unusual conditions. The staff handled it well and did the most they could to make everyone comfortable, and Joan could not have been kinder. In total, we were out on the water a little over 3 hours and then had time to explore the area and eat lunch before the shuttle departed. We heard that the other boat with us didn’t see the whales as quickly, so stayed on the water much longer. I was so excited to see 4 whales and overall had a great experience. Thank you!It was an amazing trip. No rain and the sun even tried to poke out. Captain Jacob and Tour guide Sarah were top notch. We followed a new pod of Orcas and would definitely recommend the small red Strider 1 boat.

Staff and crew extremely nice and knowledgable.Even better experience than I imagined. Followed a group of Orcas and the whales surprised us and came right up to the boat! Staff was friendly and knowledgable. Our family loved every second of our whale watching experience. Thanks Yasmine and Captain James!

The online reservation process worked smoothly and the exchanges of waiver & Covid declarations worked well for the multiple folks in our party. On the water Sue was engaged with and available to all the passengers.
