Wine tour Korčula - private tour
Overview
Our excursion starts at the view point of Korčula, where you can take a couple of photos. The first vinyards we are going to visit are situated in Lumbarda and are famous for Grk. It is not known whether the name derives from the bitter taste or the old Greeks who settled Lumbarda in the fourth and the third century before Christ bringing their own wine sort. You will have the opportunity to taste Grk at a local winery. Then we drive through the interior of the island, passing the villages of Žrnovo and Pupnat on our way to Pupnatska Luka ( The Bay of Pupnat), We continue our trip towards Čara and Smokvica, where you will be able to see vineyards. After the tour through the fields you will get the chance to try Pošip and other wines On our way to Korčula we will drive along the north-west coast of the island passing a couple of fantastic view points

My wife and I enjoyed this wine tour on our honeymoon, and it was one of the highlights during our trip to Korcula. Our guide, Zarko, was incredible. Personable, friendly and full of stories, Zarko exceeded all expectations and made for one of the highlights of our honeymoon. He has excellent relationships with the wineries we toured, and we were welcomed as friends everywhere we went. Additionally, Zarko provided a good amount of history about the region, culture and wine during our drives between the wineries. We were lucky enough to hear much of the history and traditions of the island from Dusan who was a skilled driver and very professional. We really enjoyed the wine tour. Our guide was very pleasant and told us lots of interesting things about Korcula on the drive. We stopped at various locations for photos - the scenery was spectacular. We visited two wineries. They were more like tasting rooms than being amongst the vineyards themselves but very nice. The drinks came with snacks. The Grk wine and snacks at the second location were particularly good. All in all we had a lovely time and would recommend as a good way to see the island outside the old town.Jacob at Arko travel made our wine tour fantastic.
