One of the best experiences I've had while we were in Sri Lanka. We found Ajith from lonely planet and they are one of the most popular and established tour operators in Sri Lanka. We booked this last minute but Ajith got back to us quickly and organized everything. We had meals, drinks, and snacks all prepped the next day. The driver arrived on time and picked us up from the hotel lobby. we were one of the first jeeps to enter the national park and since we booked the full-day tour we took the tour slowly at the beginning. We got the chance to see the beautiful alone because the driver took us on a different route. We've tried African safari before but we cant really compare the two. This is a whole different experience. Must try experience from Sri LankaWe had an amazing time seeing lots of different animals including wild elephants, dears, peacocks, water buffalos.....

We did 2x safari trips with this company - full day in Yala and 7hr morning in Bundala. Veru different parks - yala was very busy but with great wildlife and bundala was lovely and laid back with barely any other visitors, but less amazing wildlife (more of a bird focus). Our driver for both days was Nalaka and he was absolutely fantastic in making sure we got the most out of our safaris. He made sure we left early to beat the crowds (we were one of the first jeeps into Yala for the day) and had awesome spotting eyes, finding us wildlife everywhere we went. 2x leopards were an absolute highlight but many other animals also stole the show (we particularly liked the mongooses and the elephant on the beach) The company was easy to deal with over whatsapp, prices were very competitive with other companies, and we also had their included lunch on our full day with was a lovely traditional curry and rice meal. A few things to note - if on full day safari in Yala there is a 2hr no jeeps driving zone where we and many other jeeps parked on a beach from 12 - 2pm. It was very hot and boring during this times so bring a book. Doing the full day meant only 1x entry fee too the park though which is as if not more expensive than the jeep and guide (which is why we elected to do it instead of a morning and evening) The full day is long with a very early start, but for us a once in a life time safari trip so absolutely worth it. In Yala there was a lot of driving around trying to find the elusive leopard, and racing from one site to the next - i didn't mind this as we had great sitings, but it can be very bumpy in the back, had to hold on tight. So we booked this tour because of its reviews and its positive mentioning in the lonely planet. So we booked this tour because of its reviews and its positive mentioning in the lonely planet. We wanted to invest in an ECO tour and had no problem with paying more for the experience if we would get a sustainable and educating tour. What we got was the opposite. We tried to contact Ajith Safari the day before the tour at the mentioned address. The sign said „open“ but no one was there. We finally got our pickup time via whatsapp (WE had to ask for it). Pickup was on time, but the driver drove recklessly. He drove extremely speedy over all of the speed bumps at the park entrance that he ended up driving OVER a street dog that was laying on the side of the street. We saw it coming (did he??) and heard the squeaking, barking and howling of the other dogs afterwards - yes, it must have been dead. But the driver didn’t stop and did not mention it at all afterwards as if we didn’t hear or see it. At the entrance gate he just left us (2 ppl) alone in the jeep, wondering what was going on. We listened to the guide of the car in front of us who told the guests the park would not open until 6am (well thanks for the info). When he came back at 5:59am he just jumped into the car and said „we do leopards today“. So we drove around. After sometime we told him we also cared about the other animals (because he wouldn‘t stop for crocodiles or buffaloes). Don‘t think he understood. The first half, until lunch, went on like that. So we tried to talk to him again and on the second half of the day he actually stopped when he saw that we wanted to take pictures. The park itself, obviously, is absolutely beautiful, as is its wildlife. We saw elephants, sloth bears and even a leopard twice. BUT this is not thanks to Ajith safari, it is because the park is simply stunning. So we wanted to review the Tour itself and not the wildlife, as you can get the exact same experience with any other tour as well. We cannot recommend Ajith Safari at all and are very disappointed by the hectic and reckless driving, the little-to-no information we got and the zero-eco the tour was. The park deserves 5 stars and Ajith Tours 2 for the mentioned reasons. We expected an eco tour with learnings about Sri Lanka’s wildlife but received nothing but an uber ride through Yala and a dead dog.Día inmejorable con nuestro guía Nashin.
