On this tour, we will start our journey from Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is located in the central of Java Island. In Yogyakarta, you can visit the real Javanese Culture which you can see from the local people here and also the places that you will visit. Prambanan Temple, Sultan Palace, Malioboro Street, Kali Adem in Mount Merapi and also the neighborhood of Borobudur temple located in Magelang Town, it’s 2 hours an away from Yogyakarta.
After Yogyakarta, we will invite you to try the executive class of our train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya (5 hours ride). From the window, you can see the rice fields, local villages, and also small towns after Yogyakarta. Borobudur temple tour will start from the airport/train station in Yogyakarta, our staff will meet you at the airport/train station then we will drive from Yogyakarta to Borobudur temple area for about 1, 5 hours, Upon your arrival in Borobudur temple area, you will be staying overnight there before you do Borobudur sunrise tour tomorrow morning.

Day 2: Borobudur Sunrise Tour - Prambanan Temple Tour - Yogyakarta City Tour
Stop At: Borobudur Temple, Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Borobudur, Magelang 56553 Indonesia
Borobudur temple is best seen at dawn when the air is fresh and full of birdsong. As the mist begins to lift, the sun scales the surrounding volcanoes and terraced fields and highlights the stone reliefs and the many faces of Buddha. Glimpsing Borobudur for the first time is often a deeply felt emotional experience.
Borobudur sunrise tour offers a different experience where participants were given a special pass to enter the monument early in the morning at approximately 4:30 am before public visitors and visitors have to walk from the hotel to Borobudur with a pre-dawn stroll through the dewy grass of a lush tropical garden. A super scenery and a very beautiful morning at Borobudur temple could be seen when the sun would appear from the horizon. A truly impressive experience!

After having breakfast around 6:00 am, our staff will pick you up then going to Tugu Train Station, because the train leaves Yogyakarta around 6:45 and arrive in Surabaya Gubeng Train Station around 11:38 am

Day 4: Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour - Transfer to Banyuwangi Town (Ijen Crater area)
Stop At: Mount Bromo, Jl. Bromo Km. 3 Probolinggo City Town, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Indonesia
Mount Bromo tour will be started around at 3:30 AM (when you come to Mount Bromo on the weekend, we have to start the tour earlier), the jeep will bring you to the most famous viewpoint on Mount Bromo area. That is Penanjakan hill, from the hill we can see the best sunrise in East Java with mountains and volcanoes as a background. Afterward, the jeep will continue your adventure holiday to reach the sea of sands in Mount Bromo area. We will stop at the parking area then you will cross the sea of sands by riding a horse or on foot (it is optional) till reaching the stairs at the slope of Mount Bromo where it will lead you to reach the peak of Mt. Bromo. After enjoying the volcanic activity on the top of Mount Bromo, you have to go back to your jeep then the jeep will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast, take shower, pack up, loading bags into our car.

Then, we will continue our trip to to the Hotel in the area of Ijen Crater Banyuwangi Town) for about 5-6 hours. In this route, we will pass rural landscape, small cities, rice fields, plantations, and beach. Lunch will be served on the way at the local restaurant. About at late afternoon or in the early evening, we will be reaching your hotel in Ijen Crater area which is only an hour away from Ijen Crater. You will be staying overnight here before you enjoy Ijen Crater trekking on the next morning.

Day 5: Ijen Crater Tour/Ijen Blue Fire Tour - Transfer to Bali area
Stop At: Ijen Crater, Banyuwangi 68454 Indonesia
Ijen crater tour will start at 5:00 am, our car will bring us to the village of Licin and then continue to the slope of Ijen Crater, you will be passing through the plantations and rainforest. This is one of few remaining on the island of Java with giant ferns, plants & big trees. This journey takes approximately an hour from the hotel. Arriving at the parking area of Ijen Crater, about 1 until 1.5 hours will be required to hike Ijen Crater. Along the walking path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air and bird’s singing. Upon your arrival at the peak of Ijen Crater with an altitude of about 2385 mAsl. You will be amazed at the enchanting panorama of Ijen Crater; it has the lake of acid water where the water changes to be turquoise color. The view will be so picturesque when you take the photo from above the crater.
OPTIONAL PROGRAM;
If the weather is good enough and you still have good condition, you can take Ijen blue fire tour at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave the Hotel or Homestay around 1:00 AM or Midnight. Please check the picture of the blue fire at Ijen Crater on the Internet.

- Important Information for all travellers who are going to book this trip: Every first Friday of the month, Mount Ijen is closed for one day. So, please make sure you check the date of your booking.
- Update from Ijen Crater for this week: Ijen Crater opens at 2 am as usual, but the blue fire is not really visible at the moment due to natural causes (but when you are lucky, you will see it). The benefit is you can go down into the crater + you can still see the whole view of the Mining area and some miners too and of course the whole landscape during the sunrise.
- Important News from Borobudur Temple There will be no sunrise tour anymore on the top of the temple and no one is allowed to visit the top of the temple as well. From now on, we can only see the BOROBUDUR TEMPLE at the bottom of the temple and for sunrise, we will go to Setumbu Hill. Good news: There is a trial to climb up to the top floor but with special shoes and additional cost for it. it's still not so sure when this trial stops or continues.

This was such a great experience, especially as a solo traveller. Everything was taken care of and I could just relax and enjoy experiencing some really stunning parts of Indonesia. This was a great combination of temples and volcanoes and waterfalls so that it was culture and adventure together....

Early mornings and big days of driving were worth it for the views and the bits of history and knowledge that my guides shared with me. I chose the homestay option and there were some great spots I wish I could’ve stayed longer in, with quirky but cool rooms and lovely owners. All my drivers and guides were great but special shout out to tour guide Andre and driver Adi who made it feel like a road trip with friends, took all the Instagram-worthy photos and videos like it was a personal photo shoot, knew all the tricks to get the best spots, and who didn’t let a traffic jam or road block stop us from getting to our next destination and me making it to the ferry.Sarah A

Our experience with this tour was amazing! From the booking via WhatsApp with Sofyan, the pick-up at the Yogyakarta airport to the drop-off at our hotel in Bali was perfect! Our experience with this tour was amazing! From the booking via WhatsApp with Sofyan, the pick-up at the Yogyakarta airport to the drop-off at our hotel in Bali was perfect! We first visited the Borobudur Temple, Sultan Palace and Prambanan Temple which are magical! The next day we took the train and drove to Bromo area, which we visited very early the next morning. And the last day we had the hiking to he Ijen crater and it’s famous blue flame! The tour ended with a ferry to Bali island and the drop off on our hotel in Ubud. The service from all the drivers and guides was excellent, they were all very professional and kind. Special thanks to Andy, Fatah, Dwi, Ari!The hotels were also very good! I highly recommend Java Adventure Trail four your trip!
