Even though I'm a young teenage boy whose attention span has been thoroughly melted by social media and video games I can say in confidence that this tour truly sparked my love for history. Rodger kept me and my family engaged the entire time, I was never bored or wanted to look at my phone at any point. His extensive knowledge of everything you see on the tour mixed with his comedic moments made it my favorite memory of our Europe trip. He will also offer you to purchase his book about the Langemark cemetery and the other German graveyards, my father bought it, read it, and gave it to me, I now have a bookshelf of European history. If you have teenagers and are worried this will be too boring for them you will be proven wrong. I even made this TripAdvisor account solely to write this review after going through our family vacation photos. Thanks Rodger! We had a wonderful, insightful and educational tour of the whole battle area around Ypres. We had a wonderful, insightful and educational tour of the whole battle area around Ypres. Roger provided both detail insights about events and individuals over the four years of fighting during WWI as well as placing the events in the broader context of the war. He was able to converse with those having limited previous insight about the war as well as people with considerable previous knowledge. He also was flexible in adapting to our needs and interests during the tour. This was a memorable and powerful morning made so by the highly knowledgeable and likeable Rodger. This was a memorable and powerful morning made so by the highly knowledgeable and likeable Rodger. This is most definitely the best way to learn about the atrocities of WW1 that took place on the Ypres Salient. Rodger took us on a well planned journey. From seeing the realities of life in trenches in Sanctuary Wood to the sombre Langemark German Cemetery with 44,000 fallen soldiers and finishing with the breathtaking British and Commonwealth cemetery of Tyne Cot. We would recommend Rodger without hesitation as we would know only a fraction of the information without his expertise.Amazing tour and tour guide! Roger was so knowledgeable about everything, particularly Langemark! Would recommend this tour to anyone!

This was an excellent tour, and Roger was a kind and patient guide. He is an excellent storyteller and he answers questions and at the same time, helps you see the human side of the battles and wartime events. We highly recommend taking this tour. The sites were selected to maximize our understanding of World War I and this part of the front in particular. As per previous reviews , Roger was an excellent tour guide and we had a very interesting day. Roger was easy to talk to and keen to share /discuss the history of such an emotional area and most definitely knew his facts. Thank you very much for a memorable day which was on our 'bucket list'
