Our proposal is having a gastronomic experience trying many typical products from our region, including fruits and vegetables brought directly from the orchard, meat from local farms, Mediterranean fish, as well as tasting cheeses and handmade sweets, all accompanied by typical drinks, both with alcohol and without alcohol. You will discover delicious aromas and flavors!
We will meet at the central market and visit 10 different food places, which some of them have more than 100 years old. You can get to know the most experienced sellers and talk about the history of each product and the tradition behind each of them. Meanwhile, you will discover the interesting history of the central market and its hidden places.
Booking this experience supports the small businesses, the local producers and the artisans that are still doing their work as it used to be done before.

Carlos is a great guide to introduce both the market and so many different flavours and wines of the region. He flawlessly moved through explanations of everything in both Spanish and English. Highly recommend him and the tour.

Carlos our guide was very knowledgeable about the food we tasted and regions they were produced. We were also able to purchase some of the food and wine we tasted at reasonable prices! You can even purchase fresh meat,fish and vegetables and take them to a restaurant above the market where they will cook them for you for a few euros! Amazing experience, where we met people from Sweden,Holland,Germany and Poland….a really good time for all of us. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Alicante. This tour was so great that my partner and I are still talking about how amazing it was, Carlos is a great guide, friendly and so knowledgeable about local food and customs, with stories and antidotes that add to the experience. You get to sample so many great flavours and if there is anything you don't fancy there is no pressure to taste it, although I would definitely recommend trying everything, we found out about things we hadn't heard of but found we liked. The 2 hours goes by so quickly as you are so immersed in the different flavours. We have visited Alicante quite a few times and it was so good to do this tour and get the inside knowledge of where to shop for the best flavours, tastes and value. We visited the market again the next morning to stock up on some of the recommendations from the the tour. Everything was covid safe from wearing face masks to being provided with hand sanitiser
